Empty Seats at Karachi National Stadium: A Rising Issue

An alltoocommon sight at PSL games empty seats at National Stadium in Karachi become. Even during the recent highvoltage clash between Karachi Kings and Multan Sultans, the stadium echoed with silence instead of cheers.

This begs the essential question: Why do not the 30 million people of Karachi come out to back their own team?

A cheeky fix to this problem was given by famous content creator Arsalan Naseer. He joked, “The ground will be full if you put three motorcycles in the stadium like Jeeto Pakistan.” Said in jest, his remark nevertheless offers a harsh reality.

The truth is that while Karachiites are eager to queue for incentivedriven TV programs, their enthusiasm wanes for supporting their team at the stadium. Though parking was available during the Champions Trophy, roadblock restrictions were relaxed this time, and little changed.

Arsalan’s satirical proposal actually reflects the attitude of cricket supporters from Karachi. Must we have the temptation of a motorcycle to support our team ourselves? Or is it time really rethink our values and attitude?

For now, the sad truth remains: many Karachi citizens would rather take the relaxed livingroom and little screen over the live stadium encounter even when their home team is reported.
