Following Pakistan’s third and final ODI against New Zealand, tempers flared between allrounder Khushdil Shah and a small group of fans.
At the conclusion of the match, some foreign spectators scoffed and made rude remarks on Pakistani athletes.
Khushdil attempted to front the spectators, but her colleagues and security personnel intervened to soothe everything.
Strongly mortified by the occurrence, the Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB ) stated unacceptable foreign chanting antiPakistan and derogatory language.
Responding to an official complaint from the PCB, stadium officials removed two people from the premises.
Khushdil Shah had been fighting discipline in the series before this. During the first T20I, the ICC issued him three demerit points and a 50% match fee fine for unsuitable physical contact with New Zealand bowler Zakariya Folks in March 2025. Running between the wickets, the episode unfolded in the eighth over of Pakistan’s innings.
These occurrences point up the need of cooperation, courtesy, and restraint among players and fans to maintain the game’s spirit and honesty.
